A patrol of the Bolesławiec traffic police stopped a man riding a scooter without a helmet in the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality. As it turned out, the lack of the mandatory head-protection equipment was the least serious offence committed by the 53-year-old.
KPP Bolesławiec:
The 53-year-old was riding the two-wheeler to buy cigarettes while intoxicated; a breath test showed 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. In addition, the vehicle he was riding had neither insurance nor a valid technical inspection.
The man, who had lost his driving licence several months earlier for... driving under the influence of alcohol, now faces up to two years in prison.
