Jeleniogórscy criminal investigators, together with officers from the German Nysa group, detained three men (aged 64, 31 and 29), residents of Karkonosze County, suspected of handling stolen goods.
– As part of their operations, officers discovered and secured, at a workshop belonging to a 64-year-old and a 29-year-old resident of Karkonosze County, parts and bodywork components originating from cars of various makes stolen in Poland. Among other things, parts for Mercedes, VW and Audi cars were secured – says junior aspirant Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters. – The value of the secured property is PLN 2,373,231.
She adds:
Furthermore, as a result of subsequent activities and a search of another garage-type room belonging to a 31-year-old resident of Karkonosze County, officers discovered car parts and bodywork components originating from Ford and Audi vehicles that had been stolen in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The value of the secured property is approximately PLN 260,000.
Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail.
The entire group of three handlers of stolen goods now faces between three months and as much as five years in prison. The prosecutor placed the suspects under police supervision and banned them from leaving the country.
