– Last Monday, an anonymous man called the 112 emergency number and reported explosive devices planted in public buildings, including in Pieńsk in Zgorzelec County and Warsaw – says asp. szt. Łukasz Dutkowiak, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – After receiving the reports, police officers immediately took action and checked the indicated facilities, finding no dangerous materials.

He adds:

The simultaneous operational activities carried out by officers from the Police Station in Pieńsk led to establishing the suspect’s whereabouts and arresting the man suspected of committing these acts.

He turned out to be a 44-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County who already had similar offenses on his record. What is more, he had already served time for them.

At the investigators’ request, the court remanded the “joker” in temporary custody for three months. Since the 44-year-old is a repeat offender, he faces a sentence of between six months and as many as twelve years in prison.
