Jelenia Góra criminal investigators detained a 39-year-old man suspected of damaging property. – As the police established, at the beginning of September this year, the detained man set fire to a mini excavator standing on private property and belonging to his employer. His actions caused its complete destruction. The injured party estimated the losses at PLN 30,000 – reports Deputy Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra.
She adds:
After being notified of the crime, police officers began searching for the person who had committed the act. Based on the evidence collected in the case and an analysis of surveillance-camera recordings, they identified and then detained the 39-year-old as a suspect in the burning of the property.
The detained man confessed to the crime. Officers are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail.
The vandal faces up to five years in prison.
