Police:
Let us remember that pedestrians are the group of so-called vulnerable road users most at risk of accidents, with little chance of survival in a collision with a vehicle. Therefore, for safety reasons, police officers appeal to all road users to exercise caution and follow the principle of limited trust.
Drivers approaching a pedestrian crossing are reminded that they must exercise particular caution and reduce their speed so as not to endanger a pedestrian who is on or entering the crossing, and must give way to a pedestrian who is on or entering the crossing.
The regulations also do not release pedestrians from the obligation to exercise particular caution when crossing the road and using a pedestrian crossing.
Pedestrians are prohibited from entering the road directly in front of an approaching vehicle, including at a pedestrian crossing.
