Last weekend, a citizen’s arrest of an intoxicated driver took place in the Gromadka municipality. Staff Sergeant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters: – Bolesławiec police officers received a report that, on the premises of a fuel station, a truck had hit another truck. It turned out that the driver responsible for the collision was intoxicated, so the injured party prevented him from driving any further and called a patrol to the scene.

She adds:

At the scene, the officers established that the 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen had got behind the wheel with more than 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system.

It emerged that the foreign national had stopped in our county for a longer rest.

The spokesperson: – The man was arrested. He has already been charged in connection with the incident. He was unable to rationally explain his conduct.

By court decision, the 47-year-old foreign national was banned from driving for three years. He must also pay a fine and PLN 5,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims.
