This week, officers from Bolesławiec County received a report of a scam targeting a person selling a bicycle through a classified ads website. – A resident of our county clicked a link sent to their email in connection with the sale of a bicycle on an online portal and then shared their card number along with the CVC code – explains Staff Sergeant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – The scammer, posing as a customer, used the data, and more than PLN 4,500 was transferred from the victim’s account.

Each time, we should carefully verify the websites we use. We should not click links received from unknown people. Under no circumstances should we share our online banking login and password or payment card details.
