– Officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 43-year-old man wanted to serve a prison sentence for various offences – reports junior aspirant Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

The man was detained on 28 August in one of the towns in Karkonosze County. He was caught after an argument broke out with a taxi driver whom the wanted man did not want to pay for the ride.

The spokesperson adds: – During the proceedings, police officers established that the 43-year-old was wanted, among other reasons, on the basis of five arrest warrants to serve a prison sentence. He had been hiding from the justice system since 2014. He had previously managed to avoid arrest because he had been living abroad for several years.

The troublemaker was detained to sober up. Once that happens, he will be taken to a remand centre, where he may spend as many as 13 years.
