The Chief Sanitary Inspector was informed via the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) about the expansion of the recall conducted by Häagen-Dazs to include the ice cream batches listed below, due to the detection of trace amounts of 2-chloroethanol (a substance derived from ethylene oxide).
It adds:
Consequently, the recipient of the questioned product batches in Poland, IGLOTEX SA, decided that it was necessary to withdraw products that had been placed on the market before the company received information about the contamination.
