The State Sanitary Inspection has published a public warning concerning a glass available for sale in the KiK chain. During an official inspection, lead and cadmium migration from the product’s rim was detected. In view of the test results, consumers were informed not to use the specified glasses for consuming food and beverages.

What did the inspection show?

During an official inspection conducted by the State Sanitary Inspection, lead and cadmium migration from the glass rim was detected. These are heavy metals whose presence in materials intended to come into contact with food is subject to strict regulations.

In view of the results obtained, the supervisory authorities deemed the product non-compliant with the safety requirements for products intended to come into contact with food.

The product has been withdrawn from sale

As stated in the notice, the distributor withdrew the specified product from sale as a precaution. At the same time, arrangements are being made concerning tests of the product carried out before it was placed on the market.

The State Sanitary Inspection informed the representative of the company responsible for distributing the product in Poland and is monitoring the actions related to withdrawing the defective batch from the market.

People who have glasses marked with the batch number specified in the notice should not use them for consuming food or beverages.
