– During their duty in the municipality of Pieńsk, officers from the Zgorzelec SPEED group attempted to stop for a roadside check the rider of a Triumph motorcycle, who was traveling with a female passenger – reports Commissioner Agnieszka Goguł, press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – However, despite the visual and audible signals ordering him to stop the vehicle, he accelerated and began to flee.

After traveling several kilometers, the fugitive stopped to let his passenger out, then suddenly set off, hitting an unmarked police car. He was detained at that moment.

It turned out that the 39-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County had fled because he was wanted by law enforcement authorities. (The purpose was to establish his place of residence.) Moreover, the man was subject to a court-imposed driving ban, had his driving privileges revoked by a decision of the county governor, and the motorcycle he was riding did not have valid insurance.

That was not all. Officers found methamphetamine on the motorcyclist. It also emerged that the rider was under its influence.

The 39-year-old now faces up to five years in prison.
