An investigation conducted by the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office in Wrocław, the CBŚP Board in Wrocław and the Border Guard in Świnoujście confirmed that the smuggling of drugs from Germany to Poland had been planned. – Officers carried out an operation supervised by the Lower Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS. – In the Zgorzelec County area, two men aged 26 and 27 were arrested.

During the operation, officers searched a passenger car in which there was a compartment in the double floor of the trunk. The said compartment contained... 54 kg of amphetamine and nearly 200 ml of liquid drugs. According to investigators, such an amount of psychotropic substances could be used to prepare 55,000 doses, while the wholesale black-market value of the seized drugs was PLN 400,000.

Spokesperson:

The arrested men were charged with intra-Community smuggling of drugs, for which they may face up to 15 years in prison.

Both suspects were remanded in custody by the court for three months.
