The incident occurred in the center of Karpacz on the night from Saturday to Sunday. The still-unidentified perpetrators ran up to buses parked in the company parking lot, doused them with a flammable substance and then set them on fire.
– The surveillance footage recorded a man approaching the parking lot from Nad Łomnicą Street and setting the vehicles on fire, while also setting himself on fire – Tadeusz Kalupa recalls in a conversation with lwowecki.info Tadeusz Kalupa. One of the perpetrators fled with his clothing on fire.

Initially, one vehicle caught fire, but it had plastic tanks filled with fuel, which quickly melted. The fuel spilled across the lot compounded the damage. Only thanks to the quick response of the neighbors and the fire service, which arrived at the scene within a few minutes and began operations, was it possible to prevent greater losses.
The affected business owner has been organizing trips for years; recently, he created public transportation in Karpacz for residents and tourists. This was supposed to be a thorn in the side of local drivers. T. Kalupa told the Lwówecki outlet: – They claim that I am their competition. They claim that I have no right to exist, and they commissioned someone to burn me.
The business owner lost two buses. The losses were estimated at PLN 700,000.
