Beginning the specialist training of the soldiers who a few days earlier had passed the examinations completing the basic stage of training and taken the military oath, the commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, acting lieutenant colonel, graduate Robert Wiese, outlined the objectives and main directions of the training, as well as the requirements set for soldiers serving in voluntary basic military service.

The formal ceremony also provided an opportunity to present a regiment officer with a medal for participation in the UNIFIL mission, welcome officers who had returned to carrying out their duties after completing a course at the War Studies University, and present certificates and letters of commendation for participation in exercises and training conducted recently.

The ceremony concluded with a parade of the subunits.

Voluntary basic military service is a new type of service introduced by the Homeland Defence Act. The training consists of 2 stages:

  • 28-day basic training,
  • 11-month specialist training.

During the training, soldiers receive gross remuneration of PLN 4,560.
