At the beginning of June, we reported on soaring petrol prices. At that time, this fuel was becoming rapidly more expensive (within a few weeks, its price rose by several dozen groszy per litre, reaching PLN 7.89 per litre). This resulted in petrol becoming 30–40 groszy more expensive than diesel.
Now, in turn, diesel has become more expensive and... has almost reached the price of petrol. On 22 June, at the Circle K station on Kościuszki Street in Bolesławiec, a litre of diesel cost PLN 7.90, while a litre of petrol cost PLN 7.89.
Meanwhile, crude oil is becoming cheaper on global exchanges. Over the past week, the price of a barrel on the exchanges fell from 120 dollars to 109 dollars. The dollar's price rose slightly over the past week and is now PLN 4.49.
PKN Orlen announces summer fuel price reductions
We read about President Daniel Obajtek's declaration on businessinsider.com.pl:
We will try to provide some relief during the holiday period – announces Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek. As he adds, the reduction is to amount to a few groszy per litre of fuel.
The head of the fuel giant does not yet want to discuss the details of the reduction. “We will inform you about it next week,” he said.
As is well known, PKN Orlen is Poland's largest producer and seller of fuels, and the giant's pricing policy affects prices at all stations across the country.
Let us recall what prices at the Circle K station in Bolesławiec looked like on 2 June 2022.
