The incident took place on Tuesday, June 14, in the evening, in the Osiecznica commune. – Residents of Bolesławiec County reacted when they saw an intoxicated driver who wanted to leave a shop car park. They took his keys and called a police patrol to the scene – explains staff sergeant Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

As it turned out, they did exactly the right thing, because the detained man had more than 2‰ of alcohol in his system.

Officers from the Bolesławiec road police detained the driver's licence. KPP:

Driving while intoxicated carries a sentence of up to 2 years in prison, long-term loss of driving privileges and financial consequences.

And adds:

We congratulate the residents of our county on their appropriate response. An intoxicated driver on the road poses a threat to other road users.
