Participants tackled a 3-kilometer tactical loop with special elements, including a medical section; a chemical section, including passage through a contaminated area; and covertly crossing the terrain. Each successive stage was assessed, and the number of points was included in the final classification.
After the exhausting run with tactical elements, the students proceeded to the live-fire section. The competitors were tasked with shooting as accurately as possible with a small-caliber training rifle from a prone position at a distance of 25 meters. The final events that day were grenade throwing and disassembling and assembling a weapon against the clock.
Seventy participants from 10 military classes took part in the competition. After the points from the individual stages had been tallied, first place went to the team from the VII General Secondary School in Legnica, which scored as many as 144 points. – The high-school students’ success was due to numerous training sessions under the supervision of soldiers from the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, as well as the expert eye of their supervisor, Reserve Lt.
