On Monday, 26 April, the Bolesławiec police carried out the “Speed” operation, aimed at improving safety on the roads of the city and county. Officers inspected 120 vehicles and issued 71 fines for exceeding the speed limit. Moreover, using a speed camera, the officers recorded 49 cases of exceeding the permitted speed.
The police remind drivers that excessive speed is one of the most common causes of road accidents, while seat belts are the most effective way to ensure safety while driving. Half of those killed in road accidents could be alive if they had been wearing seat belts at the moment of the collision.
