Sunny weather encourages walks and cleanup work, during which we may find similar “souvenirs” from the time of World War II. Therefore, we remind you that found unexploded ordnance must not be touched, picked up, unearthed, moved, or thrown into a fire.
They add: – Explosive materials used in military technology are, in practice, completely resistant to weather conditions and retain their explosive properties regardless of their date of manufacture.
They also warn:
If any objects resembling unexploded ordnance are found, particular caution must be exercised. The location of such a discovery should be clearly marked, secured against access by bystanders, and the Police or other services should be notified immediately.
