Officers: – A catalytic converter is a replaceable vehicle component located directly beneath the chassis, which can be removed relatively easily. That is why it can be an attractive target for thieves, who operate mainly at night in places where there is little risk of being noticed. They most often choose quiet and poorly lit locations.

As Złotoryja police report, several notifications of thefts of these components have recently been submitted to the local KPP. (Warnings of this kind also appear repeatedly on Bolesławiec websites).

Officers:

  • We appeal to residents to remain especially vigilant and pay attention to unfamiliar people and vehicles.
  • Let us take an interest in people we do not know who behave suspiciously. Let us remember what they looked like, their distinctive features, the make of the vehicle and its registration numbers. (This information may be extremely important in cases handled by police officers).
  • If you hear strange noises at night coming from a residential parking lot or another place where cars are parked, react. Call the emergency number 112.

Theft is punishable by between three months and as many as five years in prison.
