During a conversation with Beata Sulska in December 2021, we asked the head of the Social Affairs Department, who also supervises primary schools in Bolesławiec, about the quality of education in Bolesławiec and about a modern project intended for schools: Laboratoria Przyszłości. You can listen to the conversation in the material: Bolesławiec primary schools are to become more modern. Will it happen?.

According to Beata Sulska’s statements, laboratories intended for all students as part of Laboratoria Przyszłości were supposed to open in schools from January 2022.

– Such laboratories will already be operating in our schools from January of the new year, Beata Sulska said in an interview in December 2021. – And in these laboratories, after receiving training, teachers will use the latest technology.

The Bolesławiec city budget received PLN 798,600 for implementing this programme. The financial support received was allocated to modern equipment, including 3D printers with accessories; microcontrollers with sensors, amplifiers, prototype boards and other accessories; recording equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, etc.); and soldering stations (for microcontrollers).

In March 2022, no such laboratory was operating in any Bolesławiec school. We will ask about the laboratories in September 2022, checking whether they are operating at all.

Below are the schools’ answers to our question about when a Laboratoria Przyszłości laboratory would be launched at each institution. We asked the question in mid-February 2022 and received the answers by the end of February (except from Primary School No. 2, which we asked about the laboratory in March):

Primary School No. 5 (at Dolne Młyny Street):

I would like to inform you that purchases are under way at our school, and the final deadline for delivering all teaching aids is the end of June 2022. Once we have prepared the laboratories—and we intend to create three of them—we will certainly provide information on the subject.

Primary School No. 4 (two buildings at Bielska and Mikołaja Brody streets):

In December 2021, we managed to purchase equipment worth approximately PLN 35,000. We set the delivery deadline for new orders at the end of May, so we will equip the classrooms during the summer holidays. Equipment from the Laboratoria Przyszłości programme will be used during classes planned from 1 September 2022.

Primary School No. 3 (at Ceramiczna Street):

Contractors for supplying the equipment and materials have been selected. They are two companies: Moje Bambino and Energize It Kamil Klejna. We are currently at the stage of signing supply contracts. The orders are to be fulfilled by 31 May 2022.

Primary School No. 2 (at ul. Juliusza Słowackiego):

(we are waiting for a response)

Primary School No. 1 (at Jana Pawła II Street):

At Primary School No. 1, we are currently waiting for the equipment ordered as part of the “Laboratoria Przyszłości” programme.
