Inspector Norbert Kurenda, the Bolesławiec county police chief, presented an award to Maria, a student of the Zespół Szkół Budowlanych. The teenager became a winner of a competition organized as part of the cross-border project entitled “A Safe Borderland for Seniors,” which is co-financed by the European Union.

KPP Bolesławiec:

The second edition of the competition is currently underway. Bolesławiec police officers invite children and young people to participate in the competition held as part of the project entitled “A Safe Borderland for Seniors.” To enter, participants must post a 60-second TikTok video on their social media account informing viewers about threats to seniors’ safety and calling for compliance with rules concerning scams committed against elderly and lonely people.

The officers add:

The main aim of the competition is to educate the public about crimes against the oldest members of society. Above all, it focuses on scams using the so-called “police officer” method.

They encourage young people to take part in this educational activity. Wireless headphones, speakers, power banks and many other prizes are up for grabs. Details are available on the Bolesławiec police website.
