The incident occurred on Wednesday, 23 February. Volunteer firefighters from Krzyżowa:
[…] at 19:09, we were dispatched to the A4, before the Krzyżowa interchange in the direction of Zgorzelec, where a truck had hit the barriers.
One person was injured and was attended to by a medical rescue team. Police are determining the cause of the incident.

Bolesławiec police officers determined that the Scania driver, a 55-year-old resident of Katowice, failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions and hit a barrier. The man was taken to hospital.
Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Krzyżowa, Różyniec, as well as the police, a medical rescue team and a representative of the road administrator took part in the operation.
