In addition, 29 mortar shells, 14 RPG grenades, 27 fuses for hand grenades and two rocket launchers were found. Ten mines were also confiscated. Most of these materials had been hidden in abandoned buildings. Meanwhile, 50 kg of plastic explosive, enough to make 12 vests for suicide bombers, was found in one of the cars that had been stopped. After searching the vehicle, the counterintelligence soldiers also found 300 detonators capable of detonating the material.
Soldiers from the Polish Task Force took part in the Military Counterintelligence Service's operations. None of the bystanders was injured during the action. After being transported to a safe location, the entire weapons cache was destroyed.
Soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment are also stationed at the Ghazni base in Afghanistan. The artillerymen from Bolesławiec form part of the Fire Support Group of the sixth rotation of the Polish Task Force. You can read more about this HERE.
