The incident took place on New Year’s Eve, just before 11 a.m. “Police officers from the Prevention Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra detained a 32-year-old man who, after forcing open the door of a vehicle that had stopped before a pedestrian crossing, struck the woman sitting in the passenger seat and snatched her handbag from her hands,” reports junior officer Beata Sosulska-Baran from the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters.
She adds:
The stolen property was worth approximately PLN 4,700. It included cash, payment cards, a mobile phone, documents and other small items
The driver and passenger reacted immediately. The result? The attacker abandoned the stolen items on the strip of greenery. But that was not the end of it. The aggressive 32-year-old attacked the driver. The driver was injured, suffering, among other things, head injuries.
The extremely audacious thief was arrested and taken to police custody. On New Year’s Day, the court remanded the suspect in custody for two months.
