As we read on the Facebook profile of Ochotnicza Straż Pożarna w Nowogrodźcu:
We purchased personal protective equipment and respiratory protection equipment. We obtained the funds for the purchase by participating in an open call for proposals as part of the public task “Equipping fire engines as part of support for OSP units from rural areas,” organised by the Agricultural Social Insurance Contribution Fund, as well as [z]a targeted grant provided by the Mayor of Nowogrodziec.
They add:
This equipment will be installed on the aerial ladder, whose gearbox failure has been repaired.
(The repair was financed by the mayor.)
The uniformed personnel emphasise:
This vehicle responds approximately 60 times a year, removing hazards at height, evacuating people and extinguishing fires where water must be delivered from above. The equipment we acquired will enable us to work in fire conditions, particularly protecting us from the toxic effects of smoke.
