– Officers of the Police Commissariat in Kruszyn received a report of break-ins into an account and the theft of over PLN 4,000 – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters. – The perpetrator was detained by the officers. He is a 36-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County.
How did the suspect carry out his scheme?
For several months, the young man used access to the victim’s payment card and his knowledge of the password to her online banking. Without the woman’s knowledge or consent, he broke into her account 65 times and made transfers, as well as paying contactlessly with the card. (He paid himself, among other things, for car parts, topped up a phone and transferred money to his own accounts).
The detainee confessed to the crime and gave explanations. He now faces between one and ten years in prison. Bolesławiec police officers:
