On Thursday, March 4, Senior Commissioner Leszek Zagórski presented Junior Aspirant Krzysztofowi Polichtowi of the Bolesławiec police with a letter of congratulations from the Lower Silesian provincial police chief in Wrocław. The officer was honored for his professionalism and exemplary performance of his official duties.
Let us recall: On December 10, Krzysztof Policht received a call from a desperate father. The man said that his one-year-old child was not breathing and that he could not get through to the emergency services.
The police officer instructed the caller to check whether the infant’s airways were clear and whether the child had a detectable pulse. The officer then ordered the infant’s father to begin artificial respiration.
Thanks to the police officer’s instructions over the phone, the father provided first aid to his son. The child was taken to hospital. Krzysztof Policht’s composure and professionalism helped save the infant’s life.
