The reconstruction of the A18 road is under way. Two viaducts have already been dismantled:

  • a railway viaduct – on a disused railway line,
  • a road viaduct (along road 297).

Importantly, the latter will be rebuilt, but in accordance with the parameters currently in force. Due to the work near the Golnice interchange, a temporary traffic organisation has been introduced. The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) is appealing to drivers to exercise caution and pay attention to the signs.

What happened to the disused railway viaduct located within Bolesławiec municipality?

The structure was dismantled and sold for scrap, earning the municipal government approximately PLN 60,000. (This is the first time a municipal government has received such a good price for scrap metal.) The funds will be allocated to building the Chościszowice–Trzebień bicycle path.

What is more, Bolesławiec municipality had been preparing to build a crossing for cyclists over the A18. Now, thanks to the GDDKiA investment, it will not have to do so, because such a crossing will be built on the newly reconstructed viaduct along provincial road 297.
