The new launchers strengthen the combat capabilities of the Bolesławiec-based unit, which is subordinate to the 11th “Lubuska” Armoured Cavalry Division. Homar-K systems are gradually replacing older rocket systems, including the WR-40 Langusta and RM-70/85.

Homar-K is the Polish version of the South Korean K239 Chunmoo system, mounted on a Jelcz truck chassis. Depending on the ammunition used, the launcher can strike targets at a distance of up to approximately 290 kilometres.

Ultimately, the Polish Armed Forces are to have 290 Homar-K launchers. According to information from the Armament Agency, cited by the Polska Zbrojna portal, deliveries under the first contract, covering 218 launchers, are nearing completion. The next step will be the implementation of another contract for 72 modules.

The 23rd Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec is systematically expanding its capabilities. Ultimately, the unit is to be reorganised as a brigade.
