Update
As established by the Bolesławiec police:
A 50-year-old resident of Lubelskie Voivodeship, driving a truck, hit a passenger car as a result of an improper lane change, and part of the truck's lamp housing that came off hit another vehicle travelling along the motorway.
The perpetrator was fined PLN 5,000.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 18 October, before 9 p.m., at the 74th kilometre of the A18 motorway, near the village of Lipiany in Bolesławiec County. Three vehicles were involved in the collision: a truck and two passenger cars.
The truck driver left the road and drove into the forest. There, the vehicle hit a tree.
The fire service responded at the scene
Fire service units from Bolesławiec County were dispatched to the scene. Although the incident looked very serious, no one was injured.
The police are establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident. Officers are appealing for caution and prudence on the road.
Traffic on the A18 proceeded without major disruptions.
