Officers from the Criminal Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters arrested the perpetrator of a robbery that took place in the city on 9 July.
Based on the information gathered about the attacker’s appearance, police officers quickly identified a man suspected of committing the crime. The 44-year-old perpetrator was arrested within an hour, and some of the stolen money was recovered.
The officers’ findings indicate that the victim and the aggressor first drank alcohol together. At one point, the 44-year-old attacked his companion, punching and kicking the victim, and then stole money.
The perpetrator’s conduct, the victim’s injuries and witness statements gave investigators grounds to request the suspect’s detention.
At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec, the court decided to place the arrested man in temporary detention for three months.
The man had previously been convicted of offences against the family.
Robbery is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
