The incident took place on 22 September 2026 in Prochowice. The 34-year-old resident of the town took advantage of the death of his neighbour, who lived alone, and broke into her flat.
From the flat, he took, among other things, gold jewellery, a mobile phone, wireless headphones, money and other personal belongings belonging to the woman. The total value of the losses was estimated at PLN 30,000.
Police quickly identified the suspect
The case was handled by police officers from the Police Station in Prochowice. The officers carried out investigative activities, analysed the circumstances of the incident and gathered evidence.
The 34-year-old neighbour of the deceased woman was arrested later that same day. He was charged with burglary. This type of offence carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
