Nikodem Chmielewski from the Polish Red Cross:

For some time now, the city of Bolesławiec has been experiencing break-ins and vandalism involving our containers. As the regional coordinator, I work closely on this issue with both the municipal police and the police. Unfortunately, we are unable to monitor every one of our containers all the time, but we respond to incidents of this kind as quickly as possible, certainly no later than 48 hours after they are reported.

And he adds:

Bolesławiec and the surrounding area are regularly visited by a driver, often even twice a week. We also install high-quality anti-burglary padlocks in places where such problems occur. We can only ask residents to respond and inform both us and the police about incidents of this kind. I hope that such unpleasant incidents will occur less and less frequently.

Let us recall. We reported on the matter on Tuesday, April 6. In an email to the editorial office, the Reader wrote:

A calling card from Bolesławiec: LEŚNA Street, at the intersection of MATEJKI and WILLOWA. Nobody is interested in putting an end to this practice.

And added:

The habitual delivery and abandonment of unsold rags [...]. Please ask the people responsible, who issue permits for placing Polish Red Cross containers, to take an interest in the problem.

As we have already reported, in Lower Silesia, the containers are overseen by the Lower Silesian District Branch of the Polish Red Cross
