Since 10 March, on the tactical training area of the Land Forces Training Centre in Świętoszów, soldiers of the 1st self-propelled artillery squadron (DANA self-propelled howitzers) and the 3rd rocket artillery squadron (WR-40 Langusta) have been carrying out tactical tasks and improving their skills in combat operations using the equipment. “The first field training exercise of the year is an opportunity to improve the level of training achieved and to check the coordination of subunits using live ammunition,” reports Capt. Agnieszka Kozik of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec.
The test of the 3rd rocket artillery squadron’s training was the Fire Control Training exercise, conducted on 11 March by the squadron commander with the subordinate batteries. As part of the ULEWA-21 exercise, the artillery personnel carried out live-fire missions during the day and at night.
At the same time, based on the self-propelled and rocket artillery squadrons undergoing training, on 10–11 March Col. Marek Wasielewski, commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, conducted a training and methodological course for squadron (battalion) commanders and their deputies. The main aim of the course was to standardize and guide the activities of squadron and battalion commanders in planning, organizing and conducting subunit training.
