– On 21 February 2021, based on its own findings, the Military Police carried out coordinated operations in the Lower Silesian, Lubusz and Greater Poland voivodeships against five soldiers and four civilians operating in a criminal group involved in distributing significant quantities of drugs, both in military and civilian circles, for financial gain – reports Lieutenant Colonel Artur Karpienko, spokesperson for the General Command of the Military Police.
One soldier and three civilians were detained, and nearly 8 kg of drugs were seized. Lieutenant Colonel A. Karpienko: – In addition, PLN 24,500 was secured against future fines. Military Police soldiers conducted the activities in this case under the supervision of the Poznań Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Military Affairs Division.
On 24 February, the Military Garrison Court in Poznań ordered the suspects to be held in temporary custody for three months. They could face prison sentences of between two and as many as twelve years.
