The Bolesławiec Municipal Police received a report stating that residents of one of the apartments in a multi-unit building were improperly handling waste: they were throwing it beside the waste-container enclosure instead of into the containers.

When the officers arrived, the area around the enclosure had already been cleaned up. Municipal Police:

However, during the proceedings, the patrol sent to the scene established that 9 people lived in the rented apartment in question, while according to the submitted declaration, the fee was being paid for 4 people. Thus, in reality, there were more than twice as many people generating municipal waste as stated in the declaration submitted by the apartment's owner.

The Bolesławiec Municipal Police reminds residents:

On 4 September 2020, amendments to the regulation on offenses for which officers of municipal (city) police forces are authorized to impose fines by way of a penalty notice came into force. The new regulations authorize a municipal police officer to issue a penalty notice to a person who has not submitted a declaration concerning the amount of fees for municipal waste management. The same penalty may be imposed on a person who has not submitted an updated declaration when changes occur that affect the determination of the amount of the fee due, for example, when the number of people living on the property increases.

And adds:

Committing the acts described above is punishable by a penalty notice of up to PLN 500.
