At 2:24 p.m., the SGRT Bolesławiec Technical Rescue Group was dispatched to an accident on the DW357 road in Nawojów Łużycki. As a result of the incident, a passenger car carrying two people plunged into the Kwisa River; the occupants left the vehicle before the emergency services arrived.
Bolesławiec uniformed officers:
The Group’s task involved pulling the vehicle out of the water using the winch mounted on the SGRt Mega City vehicle.
Firefighters from Lubań, the Technical Rescue Group from Bolesławiec and the Water and Diving Rescue Group from Jelenia Góra took part in the operation.
The car was driven by a 32-year-old woman from Lubań County. A 52-year-old man was travelling with her. He was seriously injured. As reported by eluban.pl:
Given the prevailing road conditions, the car most likely lost traction and plunged into the river. A nearby resident who heard the noise and the splash of the car falling into the river provided assistance.
Junior Aspirant Grzegorz Szewczyk of the Lubań County Police Headquarters told the local outlet: “The woman and the man who came to help pulled the 52-year-old out of the car and restored his vital functions. The 52-year-old was transported to a hospital in Zgorzelec.”
