During their duty in Zgorzelec, police officers from the SPEED group noticed a Ford vehicle driven by a man who did not have a driving licence. – The officers decided to stop him for a roadside inspection, but despite the light and sound signals given to him, he accelerated and began to flee, creating an enormous danger not only to himself but also to other road users – reports junior inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. – On one of the city’s streets, the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree, after which he began to flee on foot. He was arrested moments later.
Not only did the 30-year-old not have a driving licence, but the car he was driving had also not undergone a technical inspection and was in poor condition. What is more, the driver himself was under the influence of drugs.
The extremely irresponsible resident of Zgorzelec County now faces a possible sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
