Yesterday, nearly one thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Lower Silesia. It was delivered, among others, to the J. Gromkowski Regional Specialist Hospital in Wrocław, the Dr A. Sokołowski Specialist Hospital in Wałbrzych, and the University Clinical Hospital in Wrocław. There are 39 hub hospitals in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in total.
The vaccination at the Regional Specialist Hospital was one of many carried out in hospitals across the country on December 27.
In the case of the Pfizer vaccines currently available in Poland, full immunity is achieved after receiving two doses. Those who have just received the first dose will receive the next one in 21 days. Vaccination is preceded by a medical interview. Everyone who receives the COVID-19 vaccine is given a certificate. Anyone who has been vaccinated remains under observation at the vaccination site for 15 minutes immediately after receiving the dose.
Vaccinations against COVID-19 are one of the most complex logistical operations in Poland's history. That is why information about its progress—including the latest reports, announcements and guidance, answers to frequently asked questions, as well as the principles of the National Vaccination Programme, which describes the exact schedule and identifies specific groups of people to be vaccinated at particular stages—is regularly posted on the dedicated website gov.pl/szczepimysie.
