Saturday's ceremony began with a report presented by the Brigade Chief of Staff, Lt. Col. Renart Skrzypczak, to Brig. Gen. Rafał Kowalik, commander of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. After the national flag was raised and those gathered sang the national anthem, the brigade commander spoke:
The military oath is an act of a soldier's special commitment, in which service to the homeland means constant readiness and the ability to make the ultimate sacrifice in its defense.
“I, a soldier of the Polish Armed Forces, swear to serve the Republic of Poland faithfully...” Although reciting the words of the military oath is brief, it entails a lifelong commitment. The act of swearing the oath expresses patriotism and the highest obligation toward the Homeland and the Polish Nation.
The ceremonial assembly ended with a performance of the Representative Song of the Polish Armed Forces and a parade by the young soldiers to the sound of Warszawianka, performed by the Military Orchestra from Żagań.
This marked the end of the preparatory-service training. Taking the military oath is the culmination of four weeks of basic training, during which the trainees learned the fundamentals of soldierly conduct, tactics and firearms training.
10th Armored Cavalry Brigade:
To date, four preparatory-service cohorts have been organized at the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, where nearly 400 candidates for professional military service have received their first experience as soldiers.
Some of the young soldiers undergo recruitment during their preparatory service, with the brigade's personnel section helping them complete the documents necessary to begin their careers among the professional soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces.
