During an evening patrol of the city streets, officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec noticed a vehicle whose driver was traveling at excessive speed.
KPP:
At first, the driver responded to the police officers’ visual and audible signals by pulling off the road and stopping. However, when the police car approached, the driver suddenly accelerated and fled through the streets of Bolesławiec.
At one point, the driver went off the road. He still tried to continue his escape on foot, but it was to no avail—he was quickly subdued by the officers.
Why did he flee?
It quickly became clear why the 26-year-old resident of Gromadka municipality had fled from the police. As it turned out, the man was drunk; he had 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.
But that was not all. In the fugitive’s car, officers found a jar containing several dozen portions of marijuana. (It is possible that the 26-year-old drove under the influence of intoxicants. The police are awaiting the test results.)
The resident of Gromadka municipality now faces a sentence ranging from three months to as many as five years in prison.
