Mrs. Kamila lives in the village of Ustronie near Bolesławiec. On Wednesday (October 21), she found a giant parasol mushroom on her property. The mushroom weighs just over 1 kg, and its cap has a diameter of 38 cm—it could easily serve as an umbrella.

“I love my little ranch precisely for gifts like these—parasol mushrooms from my yard,” Mrs. Kamila wrote on her Facebook profile, posting photos of the mushroom she had found.

How did the mushrooms end up in Mrs. Kamila’s yard? “Three years ago, I scattered worm-eaten parasol mushrooms in this spot. The mycelium took hold and they are growing,” explains Mrs. Kamila, who calls herself Wiedźma z Rowerem and runs a blog about herbs and herbal medicine.

For now, it is not known what will happen to the giant parasol mushroom. One thing is certain: this specimen will not be going into a frying pan just yet.
