Medical doctor Artur Nahorecki, today at 6:00 p.m. will share his available knowledge about Covid-19 treatment, discuss the situation of patients at the Bolesławiec hospital and the facility’s operation during the pandemic. We will also ask about the point of wearing masks and what he thinks, based on his experience treating Covid-19 patients, about the “plandemic” idea promoted by some members of society.
Artur Nahorecki:
The queues for testing result from the number of people who want or need to find out whether they are infected with the coronavirus.
The hospital in Bolesławiec has opened several points in the region where people can get tested.
Several people work at the sample collection point.
A significantly larger number of people go through coronavirus infection mildly. These people should isolate themselves.
The disease progresses in very different ways. Flu-like symptoms should prompt us to get tested for coronavirus infection.
Recently, I have been surprised by the age of the people who are being admitted to hospital. We currently have several people under 40 with severe respiratory failure. There is also a person with limb paresis that likewise developed during the coronavirus infection.
It takes about two weeks to restore an infected person to working order; full recovery takes about a month.
At the end of the summer holidays, people took a more relaxed approach to restrictions, including wearing masks, and now we are seeing the effects. We cannot think only of ourselves. We should protect other people.
About two weeks after infection, we stop infecting others.
An asymptomatic person is a carrier. The virus multiplies but causes no symptoms. In some people, the immune system fights the virus and prevents its symptoms from developing. Such a person can infect others.
The hospital in Bolesławiec has been full for two weeks. The ventilators are occupied. We refer patients to other hospitals.
I advise against gatherings in large groups of people, and against going to cemeteries on November 1. We can visit graves a few days earlier or a few days later. We must show patience and understanding.
The opening of the modular hospital will benefit the local community. The hospital will be able to admit and treat more people.
I think the fight against the epidemic will continue for several months, until spring.
We spoke with Artur Nahorecki in April this year. In an interview nearly six months ago, the doctor said:
Masks protect us from inhaling secretions containing the virus. They also protect those around us from infection by us. Coronavirus is not always symptomatic. By wearing masks, we prevent the virus from spreading. A mask must be tight and fit closely to the face. It must cover the mouth and nose.
A mask is a psychological barrier against touching the nose or mouth with the hand. Sometimes such contact is unconscious. Typical surgical masks are disposable and should be thrown away after use. Cloth masks can be washed and disinfected.
Information about the pandemic should be obtained from reliable sources, such as the Ministry of Health website or the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.
