Lower Silesian police officers actively participated in securing the gatherings held on 10 October in Wrocław and Lubin. Junior aspirant Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the press team of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław:

Some participants, both men and women, appeared at them without face masks, even though the entire country has been classified as a yellow zone since 10 October, meaning that wearing face masks in public places is mandatory.

In Wrocław, where around 300 people took part in the gatherings in total, the gatherings were dissolved by city authorities after their organisers had been informed twice of the need to comply with sanitary restrictions and continued to disregard the regulations.

The spokesperson adds:

As part of measures aimed at limiting the spread of the coronavirus, police officers inspect various places in public spaces where covering the nose and mouth has been mandatory since 10 October. The same applied to these gatherings. Consequently, officers identified the people violating the law.

During operations in Wrocław and Lubin, fines were issued to 16 people, while proceedings were initiated against 192 participants with a view to submitting requests for punishment to the court. In the case of 34 people, the offence resulted in a warning.
