As of today, October 10, new restrictions related to combating the coronavirus epidemic are coming into force. Failure to wear a mask in a public space may result in a PLN 500 fine. In extreme cases, a person who does not cover their mouth and nose may be subject to an administrative penalty of between PLN 5,000 and as much as PLN 30,000.
We remind you of the new restrictions that apply from today:
Requirement to cover the nose and mouth throughout the country
Remember to cover your nose and mouth in public spaces – in a shop, on a bus, but also on the street. This will be mandatory throughout the country!
Importantly, only people who have a medical certificate or a document confirming a disability are exempt from this obligation.
Catering establishments – new rules
To minimize the spread of the coronavirus, catering establishments in the red zone may be open during specified hours – from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Throughout the country, a safe distance must be maintained in such places – there should be at least 4 m² per person.
Also throughout the country, catering establishments and other enclosed spaces may not provide dance areas.
Fewer guests at private events
If you are planning a christening, wedding or other private event, you should remember that there is a limit on the number of people who may participate in such events. In the red zone – 50 people; in the remaining counties – 75 people. To give you time to prepare, this restriction will come into force after a one-week adjustment period, on October 17.
Cultural events under new rules
In the red zone, organizing and participating in cultural events is completely prohibited. In cinemas, however, attendance may be limited to 25 percent of the audience.
What does it look like in the rest of the country?
In an enclosed space, this type of event may take place with 25 percent of the audience – the same rule applies in cinemas. Cultural events held outdoors may have a maximum of 100 participants; however, the number of viewers, listeners, visitors or participants may not exceed one person per 5 m².
Stay safe during an assembly
The restriction on the number of participants in assemblies will remain in force. There may be a maximum of 150 people. Participants must cover their mouths and noses and maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 m from other people. In addition, a minimum distance of 100 m must be maintained between assemblies.
