Commander of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, Col. Marek Wasielewski:

The TORNADO-20 tactical-special exercise is a test of the self-propelled artillery squadron and logistics battalion in terms of their readiness to act in accordance with their wartime mission. For several consecutive days, you will carry out a series of tactical tasks, culminating in the execution of live-fire missions with combat ammunition during the day and at night. I am convinced that the skills and experience of all personnel in assigned positions will translate into proper task performance and high evaluations.

After the exercise was inaugurated, the subunits began carrying out operations in accordance with the orders they had received. The exercise grew more dynamic with each passing day. The tasks were made more difficult by “tactical problems” prepared for the participating subunits at every stage.

23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:

It is worth emphasizing that more than sixty reserve soldiers took part in the exercise. In the artillery squadron and logistics battalion, they improved their skills in assigned positions during short-term and long-term exercises. Officer cadets from AWL and WAT also participated, completing practical training in command positions.

The culminating stage of the exercise was the execution of live-fire missions with combat ammunition. The exercise concluded with a formation of the participating personnel, during which the regiment commander summarized the tactical and fire-training activities carried out by the participating subunits and honored the reserve soldiers and officer cadets who achieved the highest training results. Field training will conclude with the redeployment of forces and equipment to the MSD.

The TORNADO-20 tactical-special exercise enabled the regiment commander to assess and verify the level at which the self-propelled artillery squadron and logistics battalion maintained their combat readiness, as well as their effectiveness in carrying out tasks on the battlefield.
