On occasions like this, we sometimes unfortunately keep recalling the still relevant comment by Jarosław Babiasz, head of the Agriculture, Property and Municipal Services Department at the Bolesławiec Commune Office, given on another, although similar, occasion:

As a municipality, we systematically clean up such “gems” – a symbol of the perpetrator’s stupidity – whenever they are located on municipal land. In other situations, in accordance with the law, we are forced to call on the landowner to clean it up, and the owner then seeks compensation from the perpetrator.

J. Babiasz added:

This problem can only be described by paraphrasing the words of Captain Wagner from the film C.K. Dezerterzy: “There are no words in the dictionary of civilised people that could describe such behaviour with sufficient insult.” Of course, here I should quote once again the words of Mrs Margaret Thatcher from the article about vandals, but I will shorten it to the conclusion – we all pay for such cunning. [...]

Of course, I am aware that once again my comment will cause agitation among people who relativise such behaviour; nevertheless, I continue to appeal for the same things: care for our money, vigilance regarding strange occurrences (e.g. a delivery van with or without a trailer in an open field or under a forest along an unpaved road, far from buildings – farmers are unlikely to drive into fields in low-loader vehicles) and, above all, care for our little homeland.
