– We want to introduce additional restrictions in the 19 counties with the largest increase in infections, in the Silesian, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland, Łódź, Subcarpathian and Świętokrzyskie Voivodeships – announced Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski.
The red zone will cover 9 counties. In these areas, wearing masks will be mandatory everywhere in public spaces. In the red zone, up to 50 people will be allowed to attend weddings.
On public transport, up to 50% of seats may be occupied. In counties in the red zone, gyms will be closed, but swimming pools will remain open – reports Onet.pl.
Meanwhile, in 10 counties covered by the yellow zone, up to 100 people will be allowed to attend weddings, and the restrictions will generally be less severe.
Detailed regulations concerning the zones and restrictions are expected to appear on the Ministry of Health’s website. They are to take effect on Saturday, August 8.
Counties/cities covered by the red zone: Ostrzeszów County, Nowy Sącz County, Nowy Sącz, Wieluń County, Pszczyna County, Ruda Śląska, Rybnik County, Rybnik, Wodzisław County.
Counties/cities covered by the yellow zone: Wieruszów County, Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Jarosław County, Żory, Kępno County, Przemyśl County, Cieszyn County, Pińczów County, Oświęcim County, Przemyśl.
