Officers of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters received as many as three reports of missing persons from Friday afternoon through Sunday. The first report came in after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, when a 64-year-old resident of Osiecznica commune called to say that she had entered the forest at 10:00 a.m. and got lost. The duty officer immediately sent police officers into the Lower Silesian Forests. The officers found the woman in the forest within the Łozy Forest District. The 64-year-old did not require medical assistance and was taken home.
Another search operation began on Sunday afternoon, when officers received a report from a daughter that her mother was missing. Initial findings indicated that the woman’s life might be at risk. After approximately two hours, a road patrol found the missing woman, who was travelling around the county in her vehicle. The woman returned to her family.
The third missing-person report concerned a 48-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County who disappeared from the place where she had last been seen after suffering an epileptic seizure. Police received the information from the missing woman’s husband after 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Having noticed his wife’s health problems and the injury resulting from them, he went to get help for her. When he returned, the woman was gone.
A dozen or so minutes later, officers noticed a woman matching the missing person’s description near a petrol station. The woman was unable to say what had happened or how she had ended up at the petrol station. Police dressed her head wound and handed her over to paramedics.
It was a very intense weekend for the Bolesławiec police officers. Fortunately, all the search operations ended with the missing women being found, and they were able to return to their families without serious injuries.
